Short and sweet
By: Chris |Tomorrow is the second of HSV’s six-pointers versus other Bundesliga contenders. Ha. HSV aren’t contenders anymore. If they somehow manage to sneak into the CL qualifying, they will have done so because one of the contenders (Schalke, Bremen, Stuttgart) somehow slipped up and spit the bit.
News and Notes redux
By: Chris |Yes, I blog about a team in the Bundesliga. And yes, I travel to the city of said team 7 or 8 times a year for 2-3 weeks at pop. But no, I don’t speak more than a couple words of German (Zwei grosse bier, bitte) . So when I present the news, it’s translated. Whew. Got that off my chest. [...]

*The players feel, that despite the result versus Stuttgart, they [...]
Monday mourning
By: Chris |Turns out I am a realist. HSV dropped to third in the Bundesliga after Saturday’s away defeat to current title-holders Stuttgart, 1-0. The story of the match was Hamburg’s failure to capitalize on opportunities, particularly in the 2nd half when the practically camped out in the Stuttgart end. But in the end, they failed to score [...]
HSV - Vfb Stuttgart Preview
By: Chris |The big match this weekend in the Bundesliga. Hamburg come in trying to regain their form, which they apparently left on the pitch in their last UEFA Cup match versus Leverkusen, while Stuttgart comes in a pretty big roll–to the tune of 4 wins in their last 5 matches at home. Vfb also come in [...]
I can’t make this sh*t up
By: Chris |Top of the table drops 2 points on the road in the Bavarian derby, 3rd and 4th place are both defeated, and all HSV can manage is a draw versus a team in the drop zone. Way to see the big picture and take the bull by the horns. Oh, and Schalke leapt from fifth to third with [...]
