Looks like Bayern Munich’s Brazilian Zé Roberto might be joining us with a 2-year contract. At least that’s what BILD, Mopo and Abendblatt have been claiming in unison. He would be coming without a transfer fee, which makes this deal a very attractive one IMHO. Even though he’s 35, he will bring plenty of international experience and hopefully some more of Bayern’s winner genes.

VAN DER VAART EYES HAMBURG RETURN

Real Madrid midfielder Rafael van der Vaart admits he would like to return to Hamburg – but not until he has proven himself with the Spaniards.

Van der Vaart spent three memorable seasons with the Bundesliga club before transferring to Madrid last summer, but he insists that was not the last time the Hamburg fans will get to see him in their colours.

“I will come back to HSV some day. I know I will,” he told the Bild newspaper.

However, the Hamburg fans will have to wait at least one more season before welcoming the Dutchman back as he intends to prove a point, despite this summer’s arrivals of Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo in Madrid.

“The time is not yet right (to return) because I have a gut feeling which tells me so,” he added.

“It is a great honour for me to play together with the best players in the world.

“I can also learn a great deal from them.”

To continue chronicling the big Hamburg exodus: Jens Todt – responsible for organising and structuring Hamburg’s whole youth program – has quit his job as well in a direct reaction to Beiersdorfer’s exit. I’ve seen and read a couple of interviews with him and he appeared to be a very smart guy with a clear vision. So two top quality men on the free market for other clubs to steal following Hoffmann’s power games. You can certainly hire quality people for the open positions again but the club’s or better Hoffmann’s image has taken extreme damage.

The good news is that Elia might be joining Hamburg after all, as Twente are reluctant to sell to Ajax (direct competitor) – although this is BILD speculation. Hamburg badly need some encouraging news and this player certainly would be a good start.

It’s sad to hear that many Hamburgers wanna out but there seems no new guys come. But It’s time for Hamburger SV to have a big change……maybe

yeah, ever since that “A good time to be a hamburg supporter” post, its been a pretty bad time to be a hamburg supporter. also, guerrero wants out, petric might want out, troche publicly supported didi before didi was thrown out, and alex silva is as discontent as ever.
but i digress…
to get back on topic, i do like the jersey

It’s great that I am on holiday and find out that the board let Didi go by reading my own blog on my BlackBerry.

Didi’s record will ultimately speak for itself–we will be a lesser club without him.

Given that Jol also left because he presumably wanted more control over transfers, i.e. Beiersdorfer’s position, it’s a bit of a joke that Hamburg are now without both Jol and Beiersdorfer. It’s also a rather sad sight.

also, it is my opinion that we may need a bit longer to be champion again, given that we just let beiersdorfer go.
