A Huge Week…
By: Evan | May 29th, 2009…and a short post to sum it all up. As of Monday, I have exams for two weeks, so I’m going to keep this (and every any posts during those two weeks) brief.
This week’s been like a true roller coaster. After the elation of getting into the UEFA Cup Europa League, we felt the sheer misery and sadness of Big Martin Jol’s departure (here, and here).
Now it seems that we are set to loose and gain several players, and maybe even coaches.
Anyone who has read the HSV awards post will know that I’m a big fan of Trochowski. He’s a great talent, and has really developed as a player, especially this season.
Well, it seems that Trocho maybe leaving us…
It seems he’s unsure of his place at Die Rothosen, and the direction of the club.

“I don’t feel I have the support of the club’s management,” he said.
“It has got to be clear how HSV are planning with me and I cannot see that yet. Bernd Hoffmann said a few weeks ago that I could leave for a few million and now he is saying that I have to stay.
“That is nice, but I need clarification. The club has got to make its stance known.
“I have got to talk to them and there has got to be a clear statement coming from the club.”
On a happier note, promising Nigerian striker, Macauley Chrisantus, has joined the recently relegated Karlsruher SC on a loan deal.
“Macauley needs match practice, so a loan deal is the best option for everyone. We hope that he can play many games for KSC” said Sports director, Didi
Unfortunately, there aren’t many post-Jol transfer rumours, and those from during the MJ’s reign are inaccurate as usual.
For more on Die Rothosen’s potential transfers (both players and coaches) google it keep tuned, as Chris and I endeavor to keep you up to date! (No pressure Chris).

I think that Trochi’s pronouncement that he’s disillusioned with HSV management should come as no surprise. After finally getting some regular PT (playing time) and getting a manager who fully appreciated his talents, he now has to suffer going through the process of learning a new manager and a new system. And I think he is dealing from a position of power with all of the rumors of him going to the Premiership.

I also think it may be a season too late for Christantus’ loan deal. Hopefully, we’ll see Choupo-Moting back up front next season and getting some meaningful minutes if he can continue on his recovery from his knee injuries.
