Like a bad case of the clap, the story about Slaven Bilic taking over at HSV just won’t go away, and if we extend our clap metaphor just a little more, it would seem that this bout has gone from acute to chronic. A story today says that Bilic has been told by HSV they want him as manager, but details have yet to be worked out. Here’s the story (via Reuters) on the World Wide Leader this AM. Here’s a translated version of the same story in today’s Bild (same story, quoting an interview with a Croatian sports paper). He (Bilic) is also discussing his future with the Croatian Football Association (HSN) about a contract extension, but that the HSN were aware that he may receive more lucrative offers from clubs.
So it would appear that Fred Rutten is out, and that at this point, contract details are the only things left to work out. Ivica Olic for one is happy: “A super guy. A great trainer. I would be very happy if he would start at HSV. “ I’m happy this saga is winding down and there is a clear direction at the club. Sadly, though, I am going to have to find a new source of topics for the blog. This has been my bread and butter since November.

Here’s a little reminder of what you promised us back in November:
“So, I am ready to go with match previews and reports, player news, transfer gossip, and the occasional photo of Van Der Vaart’s stunning wife, Sylvie.”Or to make it a bit more clear:
“So, I am bla bla bla bla the occasional photo of Van Der Vaart’s stunning wife, Sylvie.”

Touche’ Jan. I’ll get going on the Sylvie posts ASAP. Since Martha left, there haven’t been any WAGS posts at all.

Chris, what is interesting is that when I saw the report (I first saw it on Yahoo!), my mind immediately thought of how you might react.
And yes, I agree what Jan is saying.
