No live commentary and the firewall at my office blocks streaming media. . .but Marcus Berg has a brace–goals at 5′ and 12′ !!!!

There goes the clean sheet. Hapoel sub Itay Shechter (28′) heads home a goal at 37′ mark. Tip of the cap to the Hapoel gaffer.

Elia makes it a 2-goal lead again at the 40′ mark!
God, I *love* that kid!

Romeo Castelen on for Eljero Elia after the half. No sense in getting him injured in the second half with the trip to Berlin coming up.

Yeboah has scored for Hapoel , but I can’t tell you when.
Badir has been sent off for Hapoel–no idea why. . .

Yeboah scored at the 62′ minute mark. And also drew a yellow card somewhere along the way . . .

Ze Roberto has both missed (66′) and converted (72′) PKs. 4-2 HSV. Damn I wish I could see this one. . .

Tesche and Pitroipa on for Ze Roberto and Petric (respectively) at 84′ mark.

Last comment on the “Live” commentary was “short goal kick by Frank Rost” at 89′ mark. That was about 8 minutes ago . . .

BERG BERG BERG BERG BERG!!!
JAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!
sorry, thats just the best possible person to score two tonight, AND they were the first 2, which makes them “more important” than say, the clincher/Vorentscheidung at the end.Posted from

also, Yeboah is the nephew of Anthony Yeboah, who played for der HSV at the Wahnsinn Spiel (4-”3″ vs Juve).

I’ve seen some highlights now. A great goal by Berg to get things started – set up by Torun. Two goals overall by Berg should hopefully give him the confidence needed for the coming league games. Great game by Torun as well apparently. Ze Roberto made up for his penalty miss by setting up and finishing the fourth goal in style.
All in all, the problem remains that Hamburg can’t really defend their leads as they take things too lightly once they are in front.

I hadn’t noticed until now: uefa.com actually offers 30 sec video highlights of all Europa League matches, in case anyone still wants to see the Berg and Ze Roberto goal: http://www1.uefa.com/competitions/uefacup/video/index.html

I didn’t get to see the highlights until this morning, but that first goal by Berg looked pretty sweet! Let’s hope he can carry that form into the league matches. I think a goal against the struggling Berliners could be just the ticket to boost his confidence and stay in the starting 11.

I now have a full-blown man-crush on Elia. Just got his jersey in the mail last night… with that and the win? I slept well.
Does anyone else have a really bad feeling about Hertha this weekend, though? We’ve all seen this story too many times… team that isn’t THAT bad gets well in a hurry at just the wrong time…
Ugh.
