First of many

. . . Transfer rumors regarding current HSV players. Today, it is Mladen Petric and an offer from Bundesliga champs VfL Wolfsburg.

Die Wölfe have made a €9 million offer for Petric, he of 20 goals in 41 matches this season.  This is all necessitated by Milan’s flirtations with Edin Džeko.  Naturally, Petric, his agent, and HSV management all replied “Fuhgeddaboudit.” So far.

But what happens when Wolfsburg comes back with an offer of €14 or  €16 million, or more? They have that kind of cash to splash around now that they are in the Champions League next fall.  Didi Beiersdorf was a bit more coy when that question was posed to him. His response? Let’s see the offer on paper before we decide what we are going to do.  Wolfsburg, for their part, have a second option lined up:  Luca Toni.

Petric was a key acquisition for HSV last summer, and with the departure of Olic, I would find it very difficult to believe that HSV would let one of two remaining strikers on the roster be sold. But I thought that about Vincent Kompany and Nigel de Jong, too.

Petric has already stressed that he’s willing to stay in Hamburg. So relax, if he does go, we’ll get loads of $$$ for him. Anyway the latest is that Hamburg have showed interest in Cana but the problem is that he cost 10M but in my opinion, he is what we need in midfield, somebody who’s robust. Maybe Katsouranis is an alternative, cheaper but older.

Ashiq, what we need is to re-sign Reinhardt for FREE and get some depth at CD. I am not saying Basti should start, but as we’ve seen this past campaign, we have woefully little depth at defense. I think that we could move Alex Silva alongside Mathijsen and make both of them happy, then go get Katsouranis, or maybe Demy de Zeeuw, as has been rumored for over a year. Though with BMJ gone, I wonder how keen De Zeeuw is to transfer to HSV now.

I did read that Petric says there’s only one club in the *Bundesliga* for him and it’s HSV, so I am not too worried. Made for a good post, though. :)

Petric will stay, and so will Jansen.

Juve should let Poulsen go – we need him more than they do.

    NUR DER HSV!!!!

As Ashiq has said, Petric loves HSV (can you blame him?)
I’m hoping we can keep Trocho, but that’s a bit iffy.

Having finished exams today, I’ll have a mass post on all the nice rumours within the next 24 hours….
