Hamburg is clearly better than Dortmund
By: ryan_s | February 14th, 2013What else needs to be said? Fink’s countering of Klopp’s tactics are fantastic with his high pressuring of their centerbacks so they cannot build out of the back, and the attacking-minded approach that many teams do not have the courage to try.
Now, all of the sudden, Hamburg are an up and coming team with players being mentioned for national teams left and right (possibly Löw should look at Dennis Diekmeier, one article said). Last week it was all about how HSV were under performing and had spent too much money, this week it was about how brilliant their future looks. Go figure.

Dennis Diekmeier? Sure, Philip Lahm could always ride the bench for awhile I guess. However, I think that Jansen deserves another shot at LB for Germany now that he plays primarily defence again. Lahm at RB and Jansen at LB? Pretty tasty!
Anyway what a game. Can you believe how Son has proven us doubters wrong? He must have learned some skills from Ruud when he was here.
Now can HSV actually carry some momentum into this weekend? Hope hope!

Well in terms of Diekmeier, Germany currently lack any fullback at all besides Lahm, who can play either LB or RB. Agreed though, Jansen makes more sense in terms of a call up.
Son had an awesome game – not only his goals, but his passing and decision making has been so, so much better since the break. Rudnevs deserves a lot more praise than he gets from the interwebs though, he does have more scorer points than Son. -
I think Rudnevs is awesome. He can really pick out a pass – both his goals were great last week.
I forgot to mention – I read an article suggesting that HSV are interested in re-aquiring Jonathan Pitroipa! He says he got a call from Thorsten Fink because of his good performances in the Africa Cup of Nations.
What do you think – do we need a speedy winger? I think there’s possibly room for a guy like him to return, but it may be at the expense of a more defensive type guy like Jiracek. Will he ever get to play again?
