Neves deal done
By: Chris | August 31st, 2008We’ve been worried this past week about rumors that Fluminense midfielder Thiago Neves was going to be swept away by Atletico Madrid, just as Luciano Monzon had been snapped up by Real Betis. Good news, HSV supporters–it ain’t going to happen.
Yesterday, Neves was presented to the media in Hamburg with his number 27 kit (he chose 27 because it was once worn by retired HSV’er Rodolfo Cardoso, and it brought him pretty good luck). Neves holds the distinction of being the most expensive acquisition in Hamburg history, and will be available immediately for HSV.

No, I still miss him and more importantly, I miss Sylvie.

He also said that the fact that he was born on February the 27th, it would bring him twice the luck

I heard that Neves brought his younger brother to Hamburg and he is playing in Hamburg’s youth now. So Didi Beiersdorfer will be happy that he got not just a vdV replacement but yet another youngster for his collection as well.

Jan, that is true. There was an interview with their mother in Abendblatt and she was happy that both boys were going to play football in Europe, but sad that they were going to be so far away from her. Hell, for what they’re paying Neves, he can buy her just about any house in Hamburg and she can go live there.
