Oh no, MoMo or CATFIGHT!
By: Chris | June 5th, 2008A bit (OK-a WHOLE lot) of fur flying between former manager Huub Stevens and, ahem, underutilized striker Mohammed Zidan over the last few days.
Yesterday, Zizzou went on record as saying he had been “treated like sh*t” by Huub. Today, Huub fired back claiming that he would not lower himself to Zidan’s level by commenting on his accusations, and questioning Zizzou’s (I *love* that nickname, by-the-way) manhood for not speaking out when Huub still managed HSV. But he did get in the last word: Huub claimed that he continued to give Zidan chance after chance, until “the club asked me not to field him any more,” and “the players did not accept him anymore, not even in the dressing room.”
Wow. I love the drama and backstabbing. Beat’s the hell out of VDV/Olic/Guerrero/Trochowski/Komapny/fill-in-the-players-name transfer rumors while we wait for the Euros.

Mo won’t challenge Bremen’s Carlos Alberto for the award for expensive flop buy of the season, but this little episode puts him in the top 3 surely.
I don’t know, now that Stevens has basically revealed that Zidan had no support in the dressing room, it’s difficult to see a future for him at the club, despite the fact that he has a chance to start over with Jol. Maybe now that Klopp is at Dortmund, this would be a good destination for him. Too bad, Hamburg will have lost quite some money in the process.
