Short passes
By: Chris | October 29th, 2008Today’s news from Hamburg before tonight’s match with Vfb Stuttgart. . .
•Paolo Guerrero is miraculously fit for the Stuttgart match. Big shout to Ashiq for finding this story first (truth be told: The story broke overnight in the US so I hadn’t read it yet, but give credit where credit is due).
Â
Â
Â
•Anton Putsilo has no expectations that he will be staying with HSV come January. The 21 year-old Belarussian international is on a 12 month loan from Dinamo Minsk and has only 3 appearances in calendar 2008. Same story reports that Thimothee Atouba underwent surgery to repair his torn achilles tendon yesterday in Basel, Switzerland.

Â
Â
Â
Â
•Ivica Olic has a favorite opponent in the Bundesliga: Stuttgart. Might have to do with the fact that he has 4 goals in 2 games, including a hat-trick last October in Hamburg (something only Uwe Seeler and Kevin Keegan have also accomplished at HSV). Same article states that Olic STILL hasn’t been signed to a contract extension. Potential suitors include Juventus, Valencia, Monaco, and Manchester City.

Â
Proabable starting XI:
RostÂ
Demel      Reinhardt      Mathijsen      Aogo
 Jarolim      Alex Silva
 Olic                                  Trochowski
 Guerrero
 Petric
That’s it for today’s news. I probably will not comment on the match as it’s played–it’s on TV tonight (taped) in the US and I am going to watch it after work. So, I will probably also be avoiding EuroSport and ESPN so I don’t see the score.
